Type 1 Diabetes
This type of diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes, also called as “juvenile” diabetes. It occurs usually to children and teenagers. With this type of diabetes is crucial because the immune system attacks the pancreas. The immune system destroys the pancreas, an insulin-producing cells. Immune system sees it as foreign therefore, destroys them. This is called "autoimmune" disease. Experts couldn’t explain why.

Type 2 Diabetes
This type of diabetes starts in the malfunction of pancreas. Normally, pancreas produces enough insulin to be used in the body to control sugar (glucose) levels in the blood helps the body use glucose for energy. In this case, it’s the opposite, the pancreas doesn’t produce enough insulin, or the body doesn’t react properly to insulin and this is called insulin resistance.

Here are some things that you can do:
- If you are overweight considering your age, then lose some pounds.
- Exercise. Start a physical exercise for at least 30 minutes 5 days a week.
- Start a healthy diet. Start eating fruits and vegetables. Make sure to track the calories you have intake.
- Drink lots of water and avoid sweetened beverages.
Most importantly, the best chance for preventing type 2 diabetes is to change your lifestyle and make it healthy.
